Dr. Lussier is a Designated Forensic Psychologist and Forensic Mental Health Supervisor with experience providing expert testimony in District and Superior Courts. For five years (2010-2015), Dr. Lussier worked as a forensic evaluator at Bridgewater State Hospital, gaining extensive experience in evaluations related to competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, aid in sentencing, need for care and treatment of a prisoner, and risk assessment. Dr. Lussier completed her predoctoral internship at Yale University School of Medicine and completed a postdoctoral residency with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Lussier currently serves as Chair of the Criminal Justice Section of Division 18 (Psychologists in Public Service) of the American Psychological Association.

Ramón Ruiz, Ph.D.


Dr. Ruiz is a licensed psychologist and licensed school psychologist. He is fully bilingual and bicultural. He has extensive experience performing neuropsychological assessments in English and Spanish for children and adolescents with a wide range of neurodevelopmental and psychiatric conditions. He has worked for over 20 years in school districts across Massachusetts as a school psychologist. He received his pre-doctoral clinical training at Children's Hospital Boston and post-doctoral training in pediatric neuropsychology at North Shore Children's Hospital in Salem, MA. He received his doctorate from Northeastern University with his doctoral dissertation focusing on self-forgiveness in adjudicated juveniles under the custody of the Department of Youth Services.

Gabriela Szemes, Psy.D.

 

Dr. Szemes is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience performing forensic evaluations in English and Spanish for juveniles and adults.  Dr. Szemes received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and a Master’s degree in Criminology from the University of Cambridge. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center where she focused on mental health treatment in correctional settings and forensic evaluations. For the last 7 years, she has worked as a court clinician in both juvenile and district court, gaining experience in conducting evaluations regarding substance abuse, competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility and aid in sentencing.

Maureen O'Connor, Psy.D.


Dr. O'Connor is a licensed psychologist and board certified clinical neuropsychologist. She completed her undergraduate studies at Ithaca College and earned her doctoral degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She completed her pre-doctoral residency at Yale University School of Medicine. Her post-doctoral training took place at Cornell Weill Medical College/Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan and the Bedford VA Hospital/Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. O'Connor is currently Director of Neuropsychology at the Bedford VA Hospital, Assistant Professor of Neurology at Boston University School of Medicine, and Associate Director of the Education Core at the Boston University Alzheimer's Disease Center. She serves as a Member-at-Large on the board of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

Shawn Channell, Ph.D.


Dr. Channell is a clinical and forensic psychologist with extensive experience conducting evaluations of competency to stand trial, criminal responsibility, aid in sentencing, violence risk, and sexual dangerousness. Dr. Channell completed his undergraduate training at West Virginia University, obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University, and completed his pre-doctoral training at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Channell was subsequently employed for more than 20 years by the Department of Justice/Bureau of Prisons, with duty locations in California, Minnesota, and Massachusetts. From 2005 to 2020, he was employed as a forensic psychologist at the Federal Medical Center in Devens, Massachusetts, where he chaired the institution’s violence risk assessment panel and frequently testified in federal court. Dr. Channell is board certified in forensic psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a fellow in the American Academy of Forensic Psychology.

Celine Crespi-Hunt, Psy.D.


Dr. Crespi-Hunt is a clinical and forensic psychologist who earned her Doctorate of Psychology at Pepperdine University and has been conducting forensic evaluations of children and families in Massachusetts since 2013.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Pacific Clinics, a large community mental health agency in southern California. Her post-doctoral fellowship was at the Massachusetts General Hospital Juvenile Court Consultation Program, where she began her work in Juvenile Court Clinics. Dr. Crespi-Hunt worked as a court clinician in the Juvenile Court Clinics in Suffolk and Norfolk Counties. She also served as the Co-Director of Training for the William James College Juvenile Court Clinics Operations. Dr. Crespi-Hunt’s areas of expertise and clinical and scholarly interests include juvenile forensic psychology; child and adolescent mental health; protective factors for court involved youth and families; clinical interventions with children, adolescents, and families; evaluations with individuals who have cognitive limitations, particularly in relation to parenting evaluations and juvenile competence to stand trial; and trauma-informed treatment.

Andrea Buonaugurio, Psy.D.


Dr. Buonaugurio is a licensed psychologist and Designated Forensic Psychologist. She has a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and earned her doctorate degree from William James College, formerly MSPP, in Clinical Psychology with a specialty track in Forensics. Dr. Buonaugurio completed her predoctoral internship at Rutgers University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship with William James College’s Child and Adolescent Forensic Evaluation Service completing Guardian Ad Litem evaluations. She has interned with children and juveniles at The Franciscan Hospital for Children as well as Boston Juvenile Court Clinic. Dr. Buonaugurio went on to work at Bridgewater State Hospital where she continued her forensic work as a Unit Psychologist. Since 2016, Dr. Buonaugurio has worked in the Adult Court Clinic for both district and superior courts, gaining extensive experience and testifying as an expert on evaluations related to competence to stand trial, criminal responsibility, aid in sentencing, mental health and substance abuse.
